Sportshall athletics competitions take place each winter for U11, U13 and U15 athletes. This encompasses school years 4 – 10. The Gloucestershire Sportshall Athletics League is a great starting point for athletes who are getting into competition. It provides both individual and team opportunities where athletes can make strong friendships whilst trying their best and having the chance to achieve tangible success.
Each season comprises of 3 local competitions where athletes represent the club. If selected, athletes go on to represent Gloucestershire in the Regional and Inter County Sportshall Championships.
Sportshall league 2025
We are pleased to have a league that includes teams from Gloucester, Yate, Stroud, Swindon, Cheltenham, Cirencester & Dursley. We will contest 3 regional Sportshall athletics events, leading up to the inter-county Sportshall events in the New Year.
This year’s dates are:
Sunday 16th November – Thomas Keble School, Eastcombe
Sunday 30th November – Archway School
Sunday 14th December – Leisure@Cheltenham.
Sunday 8th March 2026 – U11 FIA Regional Finals and U13/U15 Inter-County Finals, Wellsprings Leisure Centre, Taunton
The Sportshall league consists of sprints, throws, jumps, agility and plenty of relays, it’s great fun; just ask anyone who has done it!
Please let me know how many teams your club intends to enter at each age group – U11s teams of 6, U13s/15s teams of 4.
