It’s been a big weekend for the club with 3 medals won at the English Senior + U20 Championships and club records broken in the process!!
Huge congratulations to Charlie Mason, Sulaiman Ouiles and Isla Pain!!
Charlie won Gold in the U20 Javelin with a PB of 71.43. This was his first time throwing over 70 metres, it moves him to 1st in the UK U20 rankings and gets him the qualifying distance for the World U20 Championships.
Isla won an impressive Silver in the U20 heptathlon with an overall score of 4783. Along the way Isla ran a superb 100m hurdles PB of 14.56 and wasn’t far off her best in the majority of the rest of the events, her consistency and mental strength secured the medal. (HJ 1.64, SP 10.39, 200m 26.38, LJ 5.27, JT 26.30, 800m 2:26.4)
Sully won Bronze in the Senior Decathlon, impressively breaking 2 club records in the process! His overall score of 7382 raised his own record set earlier this season and his pole vault pb of 4.90 added 10cm to another of his previous records. Sully also set a PBs in the long jump (6.92), shot put (11.920, discus (38.89) and javelin (61.19) plus he equalled his PB in the 100m (11.23). (HJ 1.91, 400m 52.71, 110mH 14.89, 1500m 4:50.30)
