Congratulations to the 6 Harriers who were selected to compete for Gloucestershire at the South West Schools Combined Events Championships.
Caleb Green, Isla Pain and Oliver Belbeck all achieved impressive 2nd place finishes in the Inter Boys Octathlon, Senior Girls Heptathlon and Senior Boys Decathlons competitions.
Unbelievably Caleb achieved PBs in every single event (including one =PB) with a huge overall points score of 5045 moving him to 3rd in the UK rankings. Isla’s overall score was also a PB. 4780 puts her 5th in the UK rankings and along the way she achieved 4 individual event PBs. Ollie achieved an overall PB of 5079 with 110mH and discus PBs along the way
There was also a podium finish for Orla Dowie who won bronze in the Inter Girls Heptathlon with a PB of 3858. Charlotte Smith also took part finishing 17th in a points PB of 2768.
There were strong performances from our two Junior athletes competing over 5 events – Austin Harris and Bonnie Shirlaw both finished 7th with many PBs including overall bests of 1886 and 2488 respectively.
