A big weekend for the club with two Club Records falling and English Gold for Isla Pain!
Competing at the English Indoor Combined Events Champs Isla Pain added 185 points to her Senior + U20 Pentathlon club record with 3574! The performance secured her 2nd overall on the day and 1st in the English Champs. Along the way she achieved a 60m hurdles PB of 9.07, cleared 1.74 in the high jump, threw 9.76 in the shot put, jumped 5.19 in the long jump and ran strong in the 800m to finish in 2:33.49.
Meanwhile Sulaiman Ouiles was competing in the Senior Men’s Heptathlon where he impressed with a 5th place finish and overall PB of 5272 smashing through the previous club record! Sulaiman especially stood out against his competitors in the pole vault where cleared the highest of anyone in the competition and in the high jump where he was the 2nd highest performer. (60m 7.40 PB, LJ 6.50, SP 11.69 PB, HJ 1.99, 60mH 8.50, PV 4.70, 1000m 2:49.63 PB)
Oliver Belbeck also put in a strong performance in the U20 heptathlon finishing 13th in 3682. Over the course of the competition Ollie achieved a PB in the 60m hurdles of 8.98 and SB in the 60m, high jump and 1000m. (60m 7.74, LJ 5.68, SP 9.64, HJ 1.60, 60mH 8.98, PB 3.00, 1000m 3:18.95)
