A huge performance by Nicole Frith at yesterday’s Wokingham Half. Nicole is preparing to make her marathon debut soon and preparations are clearly going well as she took 99 seconds off her previous PB finishing in 77:43! The time is just 21 seconds slower than the club record set in 1988.
Harriers were also in action yesterday at the Bourton 10k. Stewart Merry was first Harrier home in 11th place with a time of 33:15. Martin Foster was next in knocking 21 seconds off his PB in a time of 36:50. Heath Bampton ran well to finish in 37:14 just ahead of Steph Lane who finished as 3rd female in 37:27. Kevin Goodwill smashed his PB running sub 40 for the first time in 39:32. Bertie Walmsley was the final Harrier to dip below 40 minutes in 39:53. There were strong runs from Stuart Carver in 41:23 and Harriet Smith who finished in 42:50. Phil Turbard finished in 42:59 with Steve Bradley just two seconds behind. Lucy Goode ran brilliantly to finish just 6 seconds behind her PB in 45:12. Michael Shelton and Sophie Bestwick completed the Harriers contingent in 46:17 and 46:34 respectively.
