Lower YDL Final 2025

Rachel See September 10, 2025

Our U13/U15 athletes impressed at the National YDL final among many highlights (including 25 Harrier medals!) we’ve picked out just a handful for your attention:

  • *Club Record* Carter Ackwany lowered the U13 boys 75m record winning the A race in an impressive 9.88. Carter was also 2nd A in the 150m in 19.51. Fellow U13 Rupert Bridges had a busy day and was rewarded with 2 podium finishes 150m B 2nd (20.35 PB) and 75m hurdles B (12.42 PB).
  • * YDL Record* Hugo Bucher won the U15 boys Javelin with a throw of 66.41, the performance also earned him athlete of the match!
  • Along with Hugo’s Javelin win Joseph Sheppee won the U13 boys A event with a PB of 40.10 to move to 3rd in the UK and Theo Nock won the U15 boys B event with a best of 43.75
  • Rosie Atkins won the U15 girls 800m, after being DQ last year in the B race it was brilliant to see her comeback stronger than ever to win the A race by 30m
  • There was further 800m success with PBs for U15 boys Noah Seabright (2:16.85) and Ethan Hendry (2:19.19) and Kimberley Hodgkinson was 3rd in the U15 girls B race in 2:27.70.
  • Jack Shingler comfortably won the U15 boys A 1500m in a PB of 4:21.33. Eleanor Thomson was 3rd in the U15 girls A race in 4:56.86 and Ivy Wightman won the B race in 5:04.68. Eliza Nolan ran well to finish 2nd in the U13 girls 1200m in 3:58.92.
  • Our hammer throwers impressed with Arthur Roberts leading the way with gold in the U15 boys A event with 34.12, he also took silver in the A discus with a PB of 30.02. Henry Longden made it a double victory taking the B event with 32.49. In the U15 girls throws Naomi Kelly made two podiums with 2nd in the B Hammer (23.22 PB) and 3rd in the A javelin (26.25)
