Congratulations to Isla Pain, Hugo Bucher and Carolyn Franks for all taking home awards at this year’s Gloucestershire Athletics Association Awards.
Isla took home the Bob Hussey trophy for Young track and field athlete of the year. Among many achievements Isla was picked to compete for England in combined events and Great Britain at the Euro U20 champs in the high jump, she won the clubs highest honour – Harrier of the Year – and took Gold in the English U20 combined events champs.
Hugo took home the Wayne Bremmer throws award after a phenomenal 2025 that included winning athlete of the match and the National YDL final, breaking the championships record on his way to English U15 javelin gold and finishing over 11 metres clear of 2nd in the UK rankings!
Carolyn was the deserving recipient of the Gloucestershire AAA Athletic Achievement award which is awarded to an athlete, official, coach or volunteer who has achieved something special over the previous year or over a longer period. Carolyn’s commitment to the sport and her athletes speaks for itself, she had countless athletes compete at the English Schools Championships last summer. With multiple making England teams and bringing home medals on the national stage.
