C&CH Low Key Open 1

Event Details

  • Date: April 26, 2026
  • Categories: Open, U10, U12, U14
  • Tags: low key, open, YAO, young-athletes

The first of our home-promoted opens at the Prince of Wales Stadium takes place on Sunday 26th April (London Marathon day).  The low key young athlete opens are unofficial and therefore have a much friendlier atmosphere.  They do not rely on certain numbers of qualified officials, encourage parents and carers to get involved and act as the perfect type of competition for athletes to have a go at things in a competition for the first time.On days when the young athlete opens take place, there will be no training.  This is because we are encouraging as many as possible to take part and compete.Athletes can sign up to one event or lots of events in each competition. Whilst it costs £8 to sign up to the first competition if just competing in one event, and £3 for subsequent events (so, for instance, it would be £11 to compete in long jump and howler throw), it is £3 less to compete for those who usually train on a Sunday.

As well as this, athletes can enter the Gloucester Open on 26th April, which includes the U12 and U14 county championships long jump, and the Kidderminster and Stourport Open on Sunday 29th March, which is a great competition.
